In August, sales of Ford's Mustang Mach-E increased 61% over the previous year.

After Tesla's Model Y, the Mach-E became the second-best-selling electric SUV in the US.

Although Ford retooled its Mexico facility, where the electric SUV is made,

Mach-E sales increased after an almost 20% decline in the first half of the year.

Ford said there would be downtime when it unveiled the factory renovations last year. According to Andrew Frick, vice president of

sales and distribution, "improved Mustang Mach E inventory flow began to hit at the end of Q2 following the retooling of our plant earlier this year."
